Claims, Debt Collection & Recovery / Enforcement of Court Judgments

TLF is established on the principle of meeting client needs, this goal is still followed, and therefore the Department for Collection and Receivable Accounts is considered an imperative division toward the growth of the firm. We achieved tremendous success in representing major and VIP corporate clients.

Many corporations, businesses, organizations, institutions and individuals discover that managing their claims processes is both a difficult and time-consuming task. The resources TLF offer are designed to minimize those difficulties and maximize the client's interests. Flexible services are tailored to the specific needs of client operation. TLF is proud to be the first law firm in the Gulf region and Middle East to gain membership to the International Commercial Collectors Association based in the United States and we are committed to maintain our position in the field of debt collection & recovery. In this context, we opened a branch office in the Kingdom of Bahrain and opening other branches in GCC countries is under study.

Companies, organizations and agencies found out that following-up with debtors take a long time, let alone that the chances for investing such amounts if collected on time is lost, as well as the necessity to freeze certain amounts of money against such debts according to the instructions of the Central Bank of Kuwait. TLF successfully collects debts of prestigious and distinguished clients, such as The Kuwait Finance House, Osoul for Leasing and Finance, , Mobile Telecommunication Co (Zain Telecom), Wataniya Telecom, Ayaan For leasing and Investment Ijara House Holding, Bawabat Al-Sharq, National Bank of Kuwait (NBK), Burqan Bank, & American Express. Our Debt Collection team comprises of:

  • General Supervisor for Collection Department : Supervises the overall collection activities including, follow-up and arrangements with clients.
  • Supervisor : Assists the General Supervisor in follow-up of collection activities.
  • Enforcement Team Leaders : Each team leader is responsible for following-up the entire process of debt collection to ensure productive performance.
  • Legal Counsels: Responsible for reviewing execution orders and attending expert department hearings, together with follow-up of cases, with the judicial authorities.
  • Liaison Officers: Responsible for coordinating with clients for the delivery of collected funds, also contacting debtors in an attempt to reach amicable collection agreements before resorting to legal and judicial proceedings.
  • Accounting Department: Responsible for preparing daily, weekly and monthly summaries, and providing clients with monthly statements of funds collected and delivered by our firm, in addition to reporting all accounting matters related to debt collection.
  • TLF has a number of professional enforcement & guidance representatives assembled for every client.
  • Our branch office in the Kingdom of Bahrain provides collection services for our clients in Bahrain such as Bank of Kuwait & Bahrain (CrediMex), United Bank Limited and Zain for Telecommunications (Bahrain)

Collecting debt for former clients and diversification of work with major financial institutions reflected positively, as:-

  • Providing collection for various companies and financial institutions assisted our employee's position and established strong networking relationships with different agencies and authorities that work in the enforcement of judgments.
  • Over the years, overcoming challenges that have arisen has helped us to establish practical solutions for many of these challenges, as well as initiating alternative ways to exert the rights of our client with minimum procedures and in innovative ways.
  • There are many positive aspects to collection operations. There is also a major negative factor the client may face from an overwhelming volume of work, which is complacency in following up the execution of enforcement procedures. However, this shortcoming can be dealt with by using a simple administrative initiative, which is organizing a special, separate work team for every client.
  • The Collection Division has been in operation for more than a (15) years, this has enabled TLF to establish a database, which contains more than three hundred thousand debtors in the state of Kuwait alone, the database is reviewed and updated regularly.
  • The collection department went through auditing for more than one year by Quality management System (ISO 9001:2000). We are proud that the division passed our auditing, confirming the trust of our clients.
